Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutics Department aims to provide pharmacy students with a broad spectrum of knowledge and skills related to formulation, testing, quality control and manufacturing the different pharmaceutical preparations and dosage forms, reaching to marketing the final product. The practical laboratory sessions taught in this department help the students to excel the primary stages in drug research and development. They are also provide pharmacy students with essential skills related to pharmacy practice.
Academic members in the department are active in research. Generally, their research focuses on controlling drug-release, pharmaceutical industrial problem-solving, polymers, and pharmaceutical microbiology research. A number of teaching and research labs belong to the Department support pharmacy lecturers, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and researchers in teaching and research. Such labs are equipped with advanced and high quality machines, instruments and apparatuses for formulation, manufacturing, and testing the pharmaceutical preparations, including well-equipped microbiology lab.
