On Thursday, May 15, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University organized a field visit to the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Amman, Jordan. The visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the Committee’s role in the promotion and development of International Humanitarian Law.
This visit was part of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to bridge the theoretical aspects of International Humanitarian Law with practical applications, particularly for law students, in order to enhance their awareness of the significance of international legal frameworks in protecting human rights during times of conflict.
The visit included an introductory dialogue session addressing the mandate of the ICRC and its humanitarian role in conflict zones, along with a detailed explanation of the mechanisms employed by the Committee to implement International Humanitarian Law.
At the conclusion of the visit, students were given the opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion with the Committee’s representatives on various topics related to International Humanitarian Law, thereby contributing to a greater understanding and active engagement with the humanitarian and legal issues discussed.
