Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University (Pullman) (USA) in 1985. M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Combustion & Energy) from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wales (Cardiff), United Kingdom. Promoted to the rank of full professor in 1995 and worked as Engineering sector Advisor at the Higher council for science and technology.  Dean of engineering at the University of Jordan (1997-2001), Dean of engineering at Hashemite University (2001-2003). On unpaid leave from the University of Jordan and appointed as Dean of Engineering at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan (2009- 2014). Starting from September of 2014, he is back at the University of Jordan. He published over 170 papers in international journals and conferences most of which in the field of renewable energy.​
