As part of the Faculty of Art and Design’s efforts at Applied Science Private University to empower students intellectually and connect them with current developments in the labor market, the Department of Design and Visual Communication organized an awareness workshop entitled “Industrial Property and Trademark Registration”, held within the framework of the “Advertising Copywriting” course.
The workshop was led by Dr. Mohammad Al-Jaghbeer, Assistant Director of the Industrial Property Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, who presented key concepts of industrial property and highlighted the importance of protecting creative rights in the fields of design and visual marketing. He also provided a practical explanation of the procedures for trademark registration in Jordan.
The session included a discussion of real-life case studies related to intellectual property law, emphasizing the crucial role designers play in safeguarding their artistic output through legal documentation and official registration.
The workshop witnessed notable engagement from students, who expressed strong interest in the topics addressed, noting that the session added a new dimension to their legal and professional understanding within the creative domain.
This workshop is part of a series of academic events through which the faculty aims to prepare a generation of designers equipped with skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to compete in today’s dynamic professional environment.
