The Interior Design Department at the Faculty of Art and Design organised a field visit to the City Centre Furniture Factory for students studying “Principles of Furniture Design” and “Technical Drawings (1)" under the supervision of Dr. Saeed Alhmoud and Lec. Oraib Al-Subaihi. The visit aimed to strengthen students' practical skills and help them better understand the role of interior design in furniture manufacturing.
This experience allowed students to see how interior design principles are applied in the furniture design process, linking their classroom learning to real-world applications. It also helped bridge the gap between academic studies and professional practice by showing students the practical role of interior designers in furniture production.
Moreover, the visit encouraged innovation and research in furniture design. Students explored new methods and techniques, enhancing their creativity and problem-solving skills. By connecting theoretical knowledge from their courses to real-life examples, the visit reinforced students' understanding and prepared them for future challenges.
