1. What documents are required for registration? 

* Bachelor's Degree :

   - Original or attested copy of secondary school transcript

   - ID card, passport or any proof of identity​​

   - Personal photo

   - Security card for Syrian students

   - Deferred military service booklet for Jordanian students

   - Comprehensive exam certificate and community college transcript attested by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education if the student is bridging

   - Transcript from the university from which student is transferring 

* Master's and Higher Diploma :

   - Originals of the bachelor's degree certificate and transcript or copies attested by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education

   - Original or attested copy of the secondary school certificate

   - Copy of ID card, passport or any proof of identity

   - Security card for Syrian students

   - Deferred military service booklet for Jordanian students




2. What are the certification requirements for non-Jordanian secondary school certificates? 

   - Certification of the secondary school certificate from the Ministry of Education in the country where the certificate was issued

   - Certification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the certificate was issued

   - Certification from the Jordanian embassy in the country where the certificate was issued

   - Certification from the Jordanian Ministry of Education

   - Certification from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs



 


3. What are the certification requirements for transcripts from non-Jordanian universities for transferring students?

   After ASU checks that the previous university is accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education, the student needs to certify the transcript as follows:

   - Ministry of Higher Education of the country where the certificate was issued

   - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the certificate was issued

   - Jordanian embassy in the country where the certificate was issued

   - Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education

   - Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs





4. Is it allowed for a new student to defer his / her first semester?  

​ No, it is not.

5. What are the procedures and certifications required for Saudi secondary school certificates for new students? 

Students who obtained a secondary school certificate from Saudi Arabia after 2015/2016 must duly equalize their aptitude and achievement tests at the Jordanian Ministry of Education.​

6. How can a student apply for admission from outside Jordan?

7. Can students with old secondary school certificates be accepted?  

​ Yes, students with old secondary school certificates can be accepted.

8. Is a student with an international ICDL certificate exempt from the Computer Skills course?  

​Yes, they are exempt from the Computer Skills 99 course.

9. If I have placement exam results from another university. Can I equalize them and be exempt from taking the placement exam at ASU?  

Yes, it is possible. 

10. When am I considered a student at ASU and officially enrolled?  

When you receive a university ID number after paying the enrollment fees and registering courses.​​

11. Can a new student change their major during the first semester?  

Yes, it is possible before the start of the semester​.

12. Is there admission for the second semester?  

 Yes, there is.

13. Is there a distance learning or correspondence system?  

No, there is no distance learning nor correspondence system.

14. What is the maximum number of equalized credit hours when transferring from another university or when bridging?  

-Bridging students

Jordanians: 50% of the diploma study plan, except for Pharmacy 25% of the Bachelor's study plan.

Non-Jordanians: 50% of the  Bachelor's study plan.

-Students transferring from another university

50% of the  Bachelor's study plan (Jordanians and non-Jordanians).




15. What is the maximum number of credit hours that can be registered in a semester?  

According to the Higher Education Council's decision, a student can register a maximum of 18 credit hours in the first and second semesters, and 21 credit hours if the student is expected to graduate. In the summer semester, a maximum of 10 credit hours is allowed, and 13 credit hours if the student is expected to graduate.

16. What are the admission requirements for the master's program?  

The minimum average in the bachelor's degree should be "Good" for a Jordanian, and “Satisfactory” for a non-Jordanian.

17. Can a student who withdrew from ASU in the first semester return to study?   

Yes, by submitting a new application at the Admission and Registration Department at ASU.

18. How many semesters can I defer at ASU?   

 Four semesters, not including the summer semester..

19. How and when are the placement exams (Arabic, English and Computer skills) conducted for new students?  

According to the dates announced at the beginning of each semester, and students are allowed to take these exams within two years of their enrollment.​

20. Is there equivalency for courses studied at other universities or colleges?   

Yes, if the equivalency conditions and principles at ASU are met and the courses studied match the study plan for the major.

21. What are the available majors at ASU and the minimum average for each major?  

22. When is a student warned?   

A student is warned if their overall average falls below 60% in any semester regardless of the number of credit hours registered for that semester, except for the summer semester. If a student receives a warning, he/she must raise the overall average to a minimum 60% within three semesters from the warning date (excluding the summer semester within the grace period).

23. What is the minimum overall average for graduation?  

60% 

24. Do I have to take the competency exam to graduate?   

 Yes, it is a mandatory exam and a graduation requirement.

25. If I pay the registration and tuition fees before the beginning of the semester but do not officially register courses, will I be charged a late fee?     

Yes, any student who does not officially register courses before the beginning of the semester according to the academic calendar will be charged a late fee

26. How can a student complete the required community service hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree?    

A student needs to consult his/her own department to obtain the relevant instructions. Ten actual community service hours are obligatory to complete for graduation​

1. What is the semester cost?   

It depends on the student's required specialization and the secondary school average.

2. Is there an additional discount?   

A student cannot combine two discounts unless specified in the discount policy.


3. What is the required initial payment at registration, and what is the payment plan for the remaining balance?  

 50% of the tuition fee needs to be paid at the beginning of the semester, and the remaining balance throughout the same semester until its end.


4. Is the discount fixed?  

​The discount is fixed for the first academic year and changes after that based on the student's overall average in accordance with the discount policy.


5. What are the transportation fees for regular and summer semesters?  

*Regular semester:  

  - Within Amman: JD120 

  - Outside Amman: JD145   

*Summer semester:  

  - Within Amman: JD50  

  - Outside Amman: JD60


6. Can the required fees be paid in installments of less than 50% of the total?  

No, in accordance with the student’s commitment and ASU policy.


7. Is there an online payment and registration system?  

Payments can be made through “eFAWATEERcom” or bank transfers, but the online registration screen must be opened after contacting ASU, and then students can register electronically.​


1. Is there health insurance?   

Every student accepted and registered for the semester at ASU is covered by health insurance and can receive treatment using ASU’s ID card.


2. Is transportation available?   

Yes, there is, with separate fees from those of registration, based on the student’s place of residence.

Regular semester:  

  - Within Amman: JD120

  - Outside Amman: JD145

Summer semester:  

  - Within Amman: JD 50   

  - Outside Amman: JD 60

3. What is the primary language of instruction at ASU?   

It depends on the specialization: some programs in English and others in Arabic.


4. Is there accommodation for students?  

Yes, accommodation is available for female students, located directly across from the campus.​
