Scientific Research Deanship and Graduate Studies was established based on a decision by the Board of Trustees at the Applied Science Private University early in January 1998, under article 9/2 of the University rules and regulation (1) for the year 1993 based on the law number (19) of private universities 1989, and chaired by the Dean of Scientific Research, who is the Chairman of Scientific Research Council (SRC) and Graduate Studies Council.
Since the establishment of deanship of Scientific research and graduate Studies it takes the role of encouraging scientific research in the university through: granting support for research projects submitted by faculty members; publications of research in international journals and indexed journal; participation in conferences of local, regional and global levels; sponsorship of specialized scientific conferences, scientific days and workshops for different faculties at ASU. The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies encourage faculty members to participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops at the local, Arabic and International level; it also provides the needed financial support. The number of participants in scientific conferences funded by the Deanship at the end of the academic year 2017/2018 was (41) . The deanship also supports scientific books composed by faculty members. This include sending books to referee to assess scientific contribution and reveal positive/ negative aspects in order to endorse adoption for teaching and promotion purposes. Further, the Deanship oversees financial support given for scientific research projects submitted by faculty members at the University. 115 research have been granted support during the academic year 2017/2018.
