Sustainable Development Goals

Gender Equality

The University is committed to providing equal opportunities regardless of gender, religion, or ethnic backgrounds. The university has policies and schemes in place to support achieving gender balance and equality in the university community. The balance is clearly demonstrated by the fact that the top senior position at the university, the President, is a female.

As a result, a tangible improvement in the ratio of female students and staff has been achieved over the course of the past few years due to the implementation of various policies related to supporting female students and employees. The university provides a range of services to support female students' participation and access to higher education including mentoring groups for mother students, nursery (free of charge), and support for pregnant students.

The access and progress measures undertaken by the university to support the female participation have contributed to attracting more female students and staff to join ASU. The charts below show gender mix of students and employees. On the other hand, many awareness campaigns, and activities organized by the university continued to play a vital role in supporting the female participation and contribution to the society.
