Reduced Inequalities

Reducing inequality is addressed from several perspectives at the Applied Science Private University from international collaboration to the implementation of the university's diversity and inclusion strategies that aim to benefit the students, staff, and the international community. With a large population of international students from developing countries, ASU continued to be the leading university in Jordan with respect to the international outlook.

Local and international students are treated equally in relation to program fees, discounts, privileges, and access to services.

During the academic year 2023/2024, the International Relations Office (IRO) successfully received funding for International Credit Mobility (ICM) projects. The university believes that such projects will contribute to enhancing the student’s interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to career opportunities.

To support diversity through international collaboration and research, the university is a partner institution in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building Project titled: "Vocational Training Diploma on Electrical and Hybrid Vehicles" with partners from Jordan, Hungary, Germany, Spain, Greece, and Italy. This project provides training and educational opportunities for students not studying at the university from local and international communities. Furthermore, the Faculty of Engineering received funding for a project titled: Analyzing the trends and Approaches in Cultural Heritage Studies for Undergraduate Studies in Jordanian Universities funded by USAID.

ASU also believes in serving all the segments of the community. Therefore, it endeavors to offer students with special-need equal opportunities to their healthy counterparts to join all the educational programs. Accessibility to quality facilities for special-need students represents one of the fundamentals of ASU's planning and decision-making processes. In order to provide them with an appropriate environment with individual and collective services, there are special parks, lifts and lavatories, and the library is equipped with PCs for visually impaired students, pathways and toilets designated for people with special needs to help them play their role completely at ASU.
