OSCE workshop

On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Applied Science Private University held a workshop for faculty members pertaining how to conduct the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination). Dr. Ahmad Al-Rusasi, former examiner in the Canadian Examination Authority for Pharmacy practice, reviewed the history as well as the objectives of this exam and how its implemented in Canada with the attending faculty members. The positives and challenges of this interactive educational tool were discussed in depth. Several real clinical scenarios of pathological cases were analyzed and solved using the same style as the OSCE exam, with a focus on ways to develop our test approach that have been applied in the faculty exams for several years. At the end of the workshop, which lasted approximately three and a half hours, Dr. Reem Abu Tayeh, Head of the

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drugs, thanked Dr. Ahmed Al-Rasasi for his efforts and for his constant cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy, as he had previously given a number of lectures, the last of which focused on the role of the pharmacist in reducing the problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics
