The Faculty of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Practice Group together with the Council of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Applied Science Private University implemented an initiative from Dr. Loai Saadah, Patent File Officer at the Center, to host the distinguished Jordanian scientist, Professor Dr. Mamoun Muhammad Al-Hamadsheh, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of the Pacific in the United States on Sunday 15/12/2024. Dr. Hamadsheh met with Prof. Dr. Samiha Jarrah, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Feras El Hajji, Vice President, Dr. Samar Thiab, Dean of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Najjar, Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Mohammad Hijjawi, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Head of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Al-Hamadsheh presented the story of his important discovery of the drug Acoramidis® in treating heart failure caused by what is known as “Alzheimer's of the Heart” disease. The drug received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration in November 2024. While this discovery represents a landmark event in the history and achievements of our nation’s pharmacists, it confirms the commitment of the faculty of pharmacy and the University of Applied Science Private University to supporting our scientists, publicizing their contributions and inspiring experiences to our students and staff. The Center for Leadership and Innovation honored Dr. Hamadsheh, emphasizing the continued cooperation with our university in scientific research and in academic work.
