Prof. Samiha Jarrah, appointed as President of the Applied Science University

​​The Applied Science University extends its warmest congratulations to Prof. Samiha Jarrah on her recent appointment as President of the university, following a successful career filled with achievements and successes. We wish her all the best in her future responsibilities. Here is a brief overview of Prof. Samiha Jarrah's accomplishments:

As the President of the university, Professor Jarrah is responsible for academic, administrative, and financial affairs. As Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, she was responsible for curriculum design and evaluation, quality improvement projects, strategic planning, and the development of faculty members, including their performance and competencies.

Prof. Jarrah has demonstrated her experience in teaching nursing students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as in administrative and leadership roles such as community department head and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies. She also has experience in accreditation with accrediting committees for nursing programs in private and public universities and supervising students in their postgraduate studies in local and international programs. She has also participated as a keynote speaker at national and international conferences and held the position of the Director of the Nursing Department and Associate Dean for Hospital Affairs, where she was responsible for planning, directing, and managing all nursing department activities and student training in the hospital, as well as developing nursing department programs that enhance the quality of care.

Prof. Jarrah exchanges experiences with various national, regional, and international organizations and non-profit organizations. This includes project management and consultation with CARE International and the World Health Organization to develop a community-based program for higher diploma. She also participated as a peer reviewer to promote colleagues from regional countries and reviewed and edited national and international journals.

In addition, she has recently participated in organizing committees for national and international conferences and is a member of the Advisory Committee for the HCAC conference.

- External examiner for different nursing programs in the region,
- a member of the Board of Trustees (Nusseibeh College of Nursing), 
- a Peer Evaluator for all nursing programs in the United States (ACEN).

Prof. Jarrah has received several awards, including: 
- Distinguished nursing professor at the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties.
- Distinguished and active member in community service, Applied Science University.
- Distinguished researcher in the Faculty of Nursing, Applied Science University.
- Received a gold medal from the late King Hussein for being the top student in the university.
- Received the gold medal for the top student from the Arab Health Ministers' Conference.
