The Applied Science Private University (ASU) welcomed a delegation from Ministry of Higher Education, Research & Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman, represented by Mr. Al-Nasr bin Nasser Al-Ruqaishi, Director of the Equivalency of Qualifications and Recognition Department, and Mr. Abdullah bin Salem Al-Badi, Head of the Department of the Recognition of Higher Education Institutions outside the Sultanate.
The delegation was accompanied by the Acting Director of the Cultural Department in Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Jordan First Secretary Salem bin Sulaiman Al-Wahaibi and Dr. Abdullah Obaidat, the Academic Supervisor at the Omani Cultural Attaché in Amman.
A brief about ASU, its programs and achievements was introduced by her excellency the President of the University Prof. Dr. Samiha Jarrah, followed by a presentation by Prof. Feras Elhajji, the President’s Assistant for International Relations, about the remarkable partnerships ASU has with international organizations and institutes. It was highlighted that ASU has been ranked the 1st among the Jordanian private universities in scientific research and number of publications in Scopus, and that 77% of the publications belong to the top journals in Q1 and Q2 according to recent statistics by QS ranking.
The Omani delegation was assured about the university’s commitment to academic excellence and the high quality of its educational outcomes.
They also noted with interest the diversity of the students’ nationalities and background, and ASU success to facilitate their integration and engagement. They showed interest in the increase in student exchange with various countries and the pioneering projects at the university such as the highly advanced Microscopic Anatomy Laboratory, which is considered the first and most advanced of its kind in the Middle East.
