Amman – ASU's Faculty of Art and Design hosted the 3rd Cultural Drawing Contest for Schools in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. The event, which lasted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., was joined by 360 students from 42 public and private schools. The students of Basic Education competed in the themes of My Homeland Jordan and My Trip and those of Secondary Education competed in Jerusalem and My Environment My Home.
ASU President Professor Mahfouz Jouda announced the launch of the competition upon meeting the representative teachers. He welcomed them and valued their effort in developing the artistic sense and design culture for the students and maintaining the Art class as a motive to encourage the students' creativity.
He also voiced gratitude to the MoE for coordination with ASU.
On the sidelines, Dr. Ali Al-Hammouri presented a workshop on photography, and Ms. Manal Barqawi delivered a lecture on Digital Drawing.
Finally, the guests visited the FAD's permanent gallery to view the production of ASU students' at all the levels of Graphic and Interior Designs, their academic stages and the specialty's relation to the market and community.
The judging committee has started acting to announce the results on Thursday 15 March 2018 and present the certificates to the student and teacher participants.
