The Department of English and Translation held an international conference in translation, linguistics, and literature under the title: "Visions and Challenges"

Under the patronage of the President of the Applied Sciences Private University, Prof. Dr. Mahfouz Judeh, the Department of English and Translation held an international conference in translation, linguistics, and literature on Wednesday and Thursday 24-25/3/2021 under the title: "Visions and Challenges".

A group of scholars, experts, and professors from different countries of the world participated in the conference, including the United States of America, Britain, Spain, Cyprus, Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Oman, Pakistan, and Algeria, in addition to the host country Jordan.​

At the opening ceremony, the President of the Applied Science Private University, Prof. Mahfouz Judeh, referred to the university's vision and mission to achieve excellence in various scientific and research fields. He also praised the distinguished idea of ​​the conference, which would open doors for acquaintance, exchange experiences, and cooperation between faculty members at the university and their counterparts in international universities.

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences' dean, Dr. Hadeel Al-Saed, then thanked the participants in the conference and stressed the importance of opening communication channels between researchers from various international universities and faculty members in the Department of English and Translation at the university. Creating these channels will reflect positively on students and the march of scientific progress in Jordan. She also thanked the university's administration for its support of the Faculty, the distinguished staff of the English Language and Translation Department, and everyone who made the conference a success.

The conference guests also expressed their happiness at attending an international conference at a high level of organization and excellence during the Covid-19 pandemic period. For her part, Professor Sharon Black from the University of East Anglia expressed her great happiness for presenting a research paper at the conference, and stressed the quality of the research presented and distinguished competencies in the Department of English and Translation department for organizing the conference.​

The Department of English Language and Translation intends to hold the conference on an annual basis because of its impact on enriching the research production of faculty members at the university and participating universities.
