One of the first private universities in the Middle East to become a founding member of the MIC alliance led by the American University of MIT, the first university in the world.
The Make Impact Consortium
The Make Impact Consortium is an extended community of universities and companies working to speed the integration of technology, innovation, making, and entrepreneurship. The Make Impact Consortium was established by the MIT, and has grown quickly since then to include several well reputable Universities and Industry leaders from all over the world.
This has several benefits for the university's cadres and students, including:
- A number of ASU cadres and students attend the meeting of the Annual Alliance members, which is held at MIT campus in Boston to discuss projects and research submitted by the universities which are members in the alliance.
- ASU cadres and students participate in interactive webinars to get direct learning from experts.
- ASU offers grants and scholarships to students in order to intensively train in distinguished international companies listed in the program, Meet the Marker.
- There is direct contact between ASU students and researchers in the alliance universities around the world. This paves their way to obtain admission to pursue their PhD studies in such universities.
Result of this participating appears through building Business incubator "Biomarker Space" that will be the trademark for ASU at the MIC alliance.
From the crosspollination between engineering, pharmacy, IT and business students we aim to inspire a new generation of “biomarkers".
A unique space open to all kind of biomedical inventions, including
1- Design and preparation of customized lab equipment.
2- Fabrication of novel medicines/medical devices.
3- Creation 3D models for education and outreach activities.
Having Industries join us on the MIC advisory board will enable us to develop enduring professional relationships so that we can jointly shape the future of making and innovation in the university and employment ecosystem. Moreover, by helping develop student skills and knowledge you are all seeding a future set of users, innovators and entrepreneurs.
MIC allows us to not only benefit from the knowledge and experience of innovation focused universities globally, but more importantly, it allows us to work closely with organizations who are key parts of the innovation ecosystem.
