ASU in Brief

​​​​​​​​The​​​ Applied Science private University  (ASU) , also known as the University of All Arabs, was established in 1989, becoming one of the pioneering private sector universities in Jordan. It later became an integral part of the Arab International Company for Education and Investment. The academic journey commenced in October 1991 when the university welcomed its first cohort of students across three colleges: Arts and Humanities and Science & Economics​ .These colleges collectively offered 14 majors, fostering pride in the university's graduates worldwide.

ASU comprises twelve colleges, including Arts and Humanities, Law, Business, Pharmacy, Arts and Design, Information Technology, Engineering​ and Technology, Nursing, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Allied Medical Sciences, Science, and Dentistry. These colleges offer a total of 51 majors (38 bachelor’s, 11 master’s, 2 higher diplomas).

The university encompasses two deanships: the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, offering master's degrees in various specializations, and the Deanship of Students' Affairs, overseeing student life and diverse specializations. With a faculty of 311 distinguished members holding qualifications from renowned global universities, the university emphasizes practical application, linking theory to practice across all disciplines. Mandatory credit hours for applied training ensure students gain hands-on experience before graduation.

The university collaborates with governmentl and private institutions for student training and provides medical services through an on-campus clinic, Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital, and affiliated hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies. Supporting facilities include a mosque and praying ​rooms ,an Arab Bank branch, ATMs,  Bookshops and Food courts.

Connected to a comprehensive transportation network serving the capital and governorates, the university actively participates in local, regional, and international federations, fostering cultural and educational relations with global universities.

In terms of quality, the university holds ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification and a gold-level local quality assurance certificate at the university level with accreditation​ to all over its programmes . Several colleges, such as Pharmacy, Engineering and Technology, Information Technology, Nursing, Law, Arts & Humanities​ and Business, have secured international accreditations, showcasing the institution's commitment to excellence.

Applied Science Private University has recently achieved an advanced position in the QS World University Rankings, rising to the 851-900 range among the best universities globally for 2024. It also ranked 80-90 among Arab universities and received five stars in online learning according to the QS Global Classification. In 2023, Applied Science Private University was ranked among the top universities in the Arab region to receive "Five Stars Plus." 

Additionally, Applied Science Private University ranked the first in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021 among private Jordanian universities and third (tied) among Jordanian universities overall, with 12 local universities participating in the ranking
