Since 2008, the World
Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), has recognized Ibn
Al-Haytham Hospital as a world training center (class B). We have already, under the auspices of WFNS,
trained tens of neurosurgeons and neurosurgical residents from all over
the world.In developed countries, a cadaveric lab is considered a
necessary step in the process of continuous medical education.
We are proud to inform you
that we have established the first cadaveric laboratory in the Middle
East , which will make our center a (Class A ) training center, one
among few of its kind, around the World. The cadaveric lab is 537 square
meters ,fitted with durable flooring, state of the art ventilation
,temperature regulation with doors, walls and cabins made of stainless
steel.
This state of the art
lab is made of eight stations, each is equipped with: a stainless steel
table, surgical lighting, neurosurgical microscope with 2D/3D
recording/documentation, screen monitors, electrical drills,
microsurgical instruments, suction unit....etc. In addition to the
cadaveric lab itself there are separate areas allocated for:
1- Lecture hall with audiovisual equipment
and telemedicine facility , allowing interactive sessions with
international centers around the world.
2- Large separate changing rooms for males
and females, fitted with stainless steel cabinets, showers, sinks,
scrubs, shoes, caps and masks.
3- Reception and recreational area including cafeteria.
The benefits of establishing this Cadaveric Microanatomy Laboratory includes :
1- Training of residents and doctors from
Jordan, the Arab World and the World at large, in all surgical
specialties: Brain, Spine, Oral, Maxillofacial, ENT, Ophthalmology,
Orthopedic and General surgery, in addition to Medical/Dental Students,
and Nurses.
2- Putting Jordan on the map of continuous medical education and subsequently promoting medical tourism in Jordan.
