The Center aspires to be a leader in the field of quality and academic development at the local and regional levels so that it can become an inspiration for initiatives in various academic and knowledge fields.
Center's Mission
The Center's mission is focused on building the concept of excellence and spreading it at the university level by enhancing the capabilities and skills of faculty members in order to improve and enrich university teaching methods, in addition to scientific research, in accordance with comprehensive quality standards, and to serve the local, regional and global community.
Center's objective
The Faculty Development Center at Applied Science Private University aims to ensure the achievement of quality standards in education through the development and upgrading of teaching and research competencies and skills of faculty members at the university.
In order to achieve this, the Center:
1. Develops and improves university teaching methods and methodologies.
2. Consolidates the concept of total quality in university education.
3. Develops the skills of faculty members regarding the preparation and updating of course plans.
4. Emphasizes the ethics of academic work as the university is a habitat for knowledge and virtue.
5. Urges increased cooperation among faculty members in order to exchange expertise and experiences.
6. Follows up the periodic evaluation of faculty members in order to emphasize strengths, improve, and remedy weaknesses.

The Tasks of the Faculty Development Center Council
1. Supervising the activities of faculties with regard to developing the performance
Of faculty members.
2. Holding training workshops at the university level to develop the performance of faculty members.
3. Holding the induction and training program for newly appointed Faculty members at the university level.
4. Holding an awareness program for administrative leaders: deans, their assistants, and heads of departments.
5. Informing faculty members through the deanships about the available opportunities and courses that can be participated in, whether inside or outside the university, in order to develop performance.
6. Establishing local and international partnerships with the entities concerned with development.
The most important achievements of the Center for the past three years
1. An annual introductory meeting for deans and heads of departments with the aim of educating new ones about the administrative tasks and the foundations of communication with the various university departments within the applicable rules and regulations and developing an action plan for the academic year in order to enhance the performance of the faculty members at the faculty level, as well as at the university level.
2. An annual and semester-based introductory meeting for new members in order to enable them to identify methods of developing university teaching methods, developing study plans, diversity of evaluation methods, e-learning, total quality in university education, scientific research, promotion conditions and academic guidance.
3. An annual and semester-based meeting for all faculty members in all faculties at the university level that includes workshops, seminars, and lectures based on the training needs that are provided to the Center at the start of the academic year, including:
(Strategic planning, methods of measuring learning outcomes, interactive education, methods of assessment and evaluation, writing a strategic plan, research projects and methods of support in cooperation with the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies), and other topics related to performance development and work on the continuity of the application of quality and excellence standards, and discussing some ideas, visions and proposals that would contribute to achieving the university's goals in accordance with its strategic plan, and in line with the university's vision towards excellence.
4. Follow up on development plans at the faculty level in order to coordinate efforts towards continuous development.
5. The participation of members of the Faculty Development Center Committee in courses held under the arrangement of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the British Council, as the university hosted the three-day workshop in the academic year, with the participation of all Jordanian universities.
6. Inform faculties of the opportunities available to nominate faculty members to attend workshops, courses, and local and foreign conferences in order to develop performance.
