The Impact of Using iPads in Teaching the 3D Shapes Textbook Unit and Promoting Spatial Visualization and Achievement in Mathematics among Eighth-Grade Students

Abstract : This study aims to uncover the impact of using “iPads” in teaching the 3D Shapes Unit and promoting “spatial visualization” and “achievement in Mathematics” among “eighth-grade” students. The researcher conducted the study in Al-Hassad Schools, and used a quasi-experimental method which included an experimental group and a control group. The sample consisted of 118 “eighth-grade” students enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2014-2015. The students were placed randomly in two groups; 62 students in the control group and 56 in the experimental group. The researcher developed a "3D” model from a textbook unit, a spatial perception test, and a Mathematics achievement test. The study revealed the following findings: a) the effectiveness of an iPad-enhanced “3D” model in improving students' mathematical achievement, b) the effectiveness of using “iPads” in promoting spatial perception among “eighth-grade” students, c) a statistically significant correlation between the level of spatial perception and their achievement in Mathematics d) a statistically significant difference in the effectiveness of using “iPads” to facilitate the students’ achievement in Mathematics and spatial development, which is attributed to gender difference, and favored female participants. In conclusion, the study recommends the use of “iPads” to facilitate teaching and learning Mathematics and promoting the development of students’ spatial perception. Moreover, it also suggests paying more attention to male students. This study also provided evidence as to why it is necessary to conduct future studies to develop special applications for “iPads” to better facilitate teaching and learning Mathematics and other materials in Arabic, and finally, the researcher also recommends incorporating “iPads” in teaching practices within schools and classrooms.

The Efficacy of a Developed Educational Content that Complies with Quality of Digital Courses on Achieving Concepts of Islamic Education and Developing Motivation among Female Students of Educational Sciences Faculty in Jordan

Abstract : The study aimed to identify the impact of teaching a course on educational Islamic concepts through using a developed content, which complies with quality of digital courses, on concept achievement and motivation development among female students of Educational Sciences faculty in Jordan. To achieve its objectives, the study adopted the quasi-experimental approach. The sample comprised (50) female class teacher students who were selected from the faculty of educational sciences in Jordan, second semester 2020/2021. The sample was randomly divided into an experimental group that comprises (25) students who studied the developed learning content via distance education which complies with quality standards of digital courses, and a control one that comprises (25) students who studied the courses with the conventional way.

The Appropriate Educational Role for the Jordanian Secondary Schools based on Hoshin Kanri Methodology to develop their Quality Culture

Abstract : The current study aimed to identify the appropriate educational role for Jordanian secondary schools to develop their quality culture based on Hoshin Kanri methodology. To achieve the purpose of the study, a qualitative design based on content analysis was used. The findings of the study revealed that the appropriate educational role included the activities, practices and plans on which secondary schools are based, in addition to the focus on implementing quality culture through the role of schools’ principals, teachers and personnel, and employing it in the fields and aspects related to secondary schools. واقع استخدام معلمي المدارس في الأردن لأدوات التقويم الإلكتروني المنزلي في ظل انتشار جائحة كورونا

الملخص : هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن درجة استخدام معلمي المدارس في الأردن لأدوات التقويم الإلكتروني المنزلي في ظل انتشار جائحة كورونا. وتكون مجتمع الدراسة من كافة معلمي الأردن، واختيرت عينة الدراسة عشوائيا وبلغت (360) معلما ومعلمة. واتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واستخدمت الاستبانة من أجل جمع البيانات من عينة الدراسة. وتم توزيع الاستبانة من خلال (Google form) عبر مجموعات المعلمين في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي (الفيسبوك وتوتير) وعبر برنامج التراسل الفوري (واتساب)، واستمر جمع البيانات لمدة (30) يوما، وقد تم التأكد من صدق الاستبانة وثباتها. توصلت الدراسة إلى حصول مجال "الأسئلة الإلكترونيّة المنزلية" على متوسط حسابي (0.73±3.28) وبدرجة متوسطة، وحصل مجال "الاختبارات الإلكترونيّة المنزلية" على متوسط حسابي (1.01±2.89) وبدرجة متوسطة، وحصل مجال "ملف الإنجاز الإلكتروني المنزلي" على متوسط حسابي (0.99±2.74) وبدرجة متوسطة، ومجال "تحديات استخدام التقويم الإلكتروني المنزلي" حصل على متوسط حسابي (0.67±3.79) وبدرجة مرتفعة، وبناء على نتائج الدراسة، فإنها توصي بضرورة الاهتمام بتوظيف ملف الإنجاز الإلكتروني المنزلي في تقويم الطلبة.
