Scientific Research Deanship and Graduate Studies was established based on a decision by the Board of Trustees at the Applied Science Private University early in January 1998, under article 9/2 of the University rules and regulation (1) for the year 1993 based on the law number (19) of private universities 1989, and chaired by the Dean of Scientific Research, who is the Chairman of Scientific Research Council (SRC) and Graduate Studies Council.
At the beginning of the academic year 2005/2006 the university started a master program in Accounting. The responsibilities of this program were assigned to the Deanship of Scientific Research, so it became the "Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies". The total number of MA students who registered in the Accounting program reached "51" students; 36 students were graduated till now, and 29 students are expected to graduate by the end of the second semester of the academic year 2011/2012, and the total number of MA students who registered in the Marketing program reachesd (21) students.
Since it was established, the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies supported scientific research, dissemination of research and participation in scientific conferences; provided financial support and deployed university resources to facilitate the task of researchers; and prioritized research projects that serve development of local community and the regions.
The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies encourages faculty members to participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops at the local, Arabic and International level; it also provides the needed financial support. The number of participants in scientific conferences funded by the Deanship at the end of the academic year 2011/2012 was (106) researchers.
The deanship also supports scientific books composed by faculty members. This include sending books to referee to assess scientific contribution and reveal positive/ negative aspects in order to endorse adoption for teaching and promotion purposes. Twelve manuscripts have been refereed in the academic year 2011/2012.
The Deanship oversees financial support given for scientific research projects submitted by faculty members at the University. Seventy researches have been granted support during the academic year 2011/2012.
